1.  Is the Foundation a Canadian registered charity?

YES!  The Noah John Winston Miles Foundation became a registered Canadian charity in 2016.  The charitable registration number is 75374 6296 RR0001.  The Foundation is a grant making charity that provides grants to any Canadian registered charity that compliments our goal of supporting anti-bullying initiatives in Toronto and across Canada.

In addition to operating as a registered Canadian charity, we will continue to partner with the Toronto Foundation, one of 191 community foundations in Canada.  Through this partnership, we are able to obtain support for many of the “back office” responsibilities such as investing and growing the fund.  We get to focus on creating positive change while they provide the support and services to make it happen.  100% of your donation goes to The Noah John Winston Miles Foundation.

2.  Will you issue tax receipts for donations received?

YES!  Receipts will be provided for all donations of $25.00 or more.  If you sponsored a participant in Miles for Smiles bike-a-thon, receipts will be issued by the Foundation directly.  All other donations will be managed by the Toronto Foundation and they will issue receipts on our behalf.  You will receive a tax receipt in the mail.

3.  How will the money raised be used?

It is our goal to continue what Noah started through his involvement with Roots of Empathy.  We will be financially supporting Roots of Empathy (and potentially other anti-bullying initiatives in the community).  It is our goal to raise enough money to offer the Roots of Empathy program in one additional classroom each year.
