Exactly 100 riders lined up at the starting line for the second annual Miles for Smiles bike-a-thon on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Duke of Connaught Public School. We saw many familiar faces and welcomed many new ones from our community. The kids enjoyed all the festivities from bike decorating to face painting. Many also practiced their penalty kicks with Little Kickers soccer coaches. During the main event, we saw many participants that had mastered riding their two wheeled bicycles this summer, others were pedalling their tricycles on their own and the scooters were zipping along.
Together we raised over $20,000 to support anti-bullying programs! This will benefit our children, their friends and others in the community. Thanks for helping to build upon the work that Noah started as a “tiny teacher” with Roots of Empathy. We can all make a difference.
We are looking forward to next year. Save the date: Saturday, September 9, 2017.
